Kingman - Founded in 1886



Main Street Kingman

Founded because the
railroad ruined a farm.

David J. Ratliff owned an 80 acre piece of land that the railroad built through on a angle which left the land unusable for farming. Mr. Ratliff decided to plat a town and sell the land as town lots. That was the start of Kingman.

Today Kingman is home to around 600 happy Hoosiers and serves the southern part of Fountain County.
